This subject area considers the idea of landscape and its various interpretations within the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. What is landscape? Landscape can be a physical space, designed and controlled. It can be urban or rural. Landscape can be an artistic vista or a psychological concept, specific to the individual or community. It can be an historical text, or represented through music. Research in this area seeks to understand the interaction between people and place that produces landscapes.
